I created ‘Bespoke Ceremonies’ in 2007 after I was asked to be celebrant at wedding in a beautiful rural location in France.

Getting married abroad seemed a complex and bewildering process involving a good deal of bureaucracy and red-tape and so the happy couple opted for a quick registry office marriage in the UK, before enlisting me to create and conduct their dream wedding in the magnificent grounds of a fairytale Chateau in the French countryside.

It was then that I realised that unique, original and deeply personal ceremonies were impossible to come by. They were restricted to Religious traditions, registry office formality or secular variations which appeared rather nichely ‘New-Age’.

This seemed to be the same when it came to celebrating the lives of deceased loved ones, renewals of vows, memorials and the joyful welcoming babies and infants into the world.

I am not attached to any belief, faith or philosophy and believe that spirituality and humanism are truly personal choices and do not have to form the basis of a profound and meaningful ceremon
